Achieving carbon negative emissions
There’s no getting around it, our hosting infrastructure generates around 135 tonnes of carbon every year. However, we work directly with The Woodland Trust to offset more than our own energy consumption.
The Woodland Trust is the largest woodland conservation charity in the UK. Through its Woodland Carbon project we contribute funding to help with the planting of new native woodland. The project aims to plant on average 25m2 of woodland for each tonne of CO2 emitted, absorbing CO2 emissions from the atmosphere and storing them in the trees as they grow.
We’re committed to planting 7,500m2 of new woodland through this scheme, each and every year. That’s the equivalent of removing 300 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere, more than double what our hosting infrastructure creates.

Cleaner, greener office power
We’re proud to use Opus Energy as the power provider for our Manchester offices. Opus delivers renewable source electricity as standard, helping us to achieve our sustainability goals.
Responsible data centre power
In addition to our own efforts to mitigate the impact of our workload, our data centre provider, Teledata, also draws on renewable power. In fact, when you combine our data centre power provider’s efforts with our own participation in The Woodland Carbon project, you could even say we’re carbon negative.
Working from home
Our team members enjoy the perk of being able to work flexibly from home or from the office.
Not only does this help our people spend a little more time with their families, but it also helps reduce congestion on the road and rail networks during the working week.
Considerate hardware recycling
Our hosting business can generate waste material, mainly in the form of spent hardware. However, with the help of Tech Recycle, every defunct server, switch, router, printer and desktop PC is recycled rather than sent to landfill.
As an added environmental bonus, Tech Recycle also commits to planting new trees for every piece of hardware recycled through it, as part of its business model.
